Comments: Many years ago my grandfather who was suffering from dementia wandered away from his nursing home. His body was found in water four months later.
An uncle lost touch with the family for many years and was eventually located. He has since died and was back in Ireland at the time of his death.

I have some understanding of the hurt experienced by families when a relative disappears.

If anyone reading this has lost touch with family; please make contact. No one will be angry that someone has lost touch; they will be joyful that their missing relative is alive and well. There is no need to be ashamed; they will understand and forgive. Take your courage in both hands and write that letter, make that call or knock on that door.
