Comments: A month ago, I was attending Mass at my local parish and the celebrant that night was a priest from Ireland. In his homily, he talked about the sad case of Robert Holohan. There was an audible gasp in the congregation as he described the manner in which Robert was taken and murdered. He also mentioned that his best friend also happened to be the main celebrant at Robert’s funeral services.
I did some research at a radio station I work for and found the heartwrenching details of Robert’s case in the Irish media. The published school photo of a smiling Robert continues to haunt me.
The deepest condolences of everybody in my parish and my fellow Americans of Irish heritage go out to Robert’s family and friends and we hope that the person currently being held in this crime is punished to the fullest extent of the law.
