Olive and James Doyle Greenwich, Connecticut USA My husband and I are originally Irish and were home for Christmas. A couple of days after our return to the US, Robert was abducted. He has been on our minds constantly and our hearts have been broken thinking of the horror and pain his parents, family and friends must be going through. I have been following the Irish news avidly for latest updates and was so sad to learn of this poor innocent child's death. I hope and pray that he did not suffer too much and my heart breaks for Mark and Majella. This morning I was listening to a Sinead O'Connor CD titled Universal Mother. There is a song called "My darling child", and when it came on I just broke down and cried. I was driving at the time and luckily I had just arrived home. I felt a fraction of the pain these poor people are going through, the loss must feel unsurmountable right now for them. Robert's family is in our hearts, today will be a hard day for them and all of Ireland is with them at this difficult time, even those of us who live elsewhere. I wish them peace and pray that they have the strenght and support to get through this. Shame on the perpetrator, the time of reconing will come for that evil monster. 15/01/2005 |

the o donovan family o donovan cork cork ireland the holohan family id just like to extend my sympathy to the holohan family who tragically lost their son Robert. I dont think that their is anything i could say that hasnt already been said. at times like these you just have to remember the good times and good things over the bad. you have to imagine what the boy would want the family to do. life isn't fair but we have to deal with it, and i have no doubt that whoever commited this crime will be caught. just remember Robert is out there watching over his family, and hopefully helping them at this sad time. my prayers and that of my family are with the holohan family. 15/01/2005 |

A resident of Midleton Cork Ireland As a young person in the town of Midleton I find it hard to believe what has just happened. Why anybody would do such a thing to a beautiful innocent young boy who had his whole life ahead of him is a mystery. Today, along with the whole town I shed a tear as Robert was prematurely brought to his final resting place. No family should ever have to go through what this family has gone through these past few days. Tonight my thoughts are with Mark, Majella, Emma and Harry. It is true what the papers have said, God must have needed another hurler in heaven.. why else would he have taken Robert. 15/01/2005 |

Eoin Leahy Celbridge Kildare Ireland My thoughts and prayers are with Robert's family, I have been following this story from day 1, just hoping he would turn up alive, I can't describe what I felt when i found out he had been murdered.I didn't know him,I didn't know the family, but he was just a kid,an innocent child who didn't deserve this. I have a young brother who is also 11 and the innocence in Robert's eyes reminds me so much of my brother, I wouldn't know what to do if anything happened to him. My prayers are with the family and the community and I hope the monster that did this is brought to justice. As someone wrote on a bouquet of flowers "God must have needed more hurlers in heaven" and I believe this is true,God Bless. 15/01/2005 |
