I had been following this story since I first read about it on the RTE online news updates and was so sickened to learn the outcome. How could someone be so cruel? My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I hope and pray that I never have to endure such a horrific tradegy. 16/01/2005 |

Anna Kelly Cork I never thought i would cry so much for a child i never knew. This is such a terrible terrible tragedy. i think most people in this country have been touched by Roberts death over the last two weeks. I am a teacher of Junior Infants and the children in my class have been quite upset and disturbed by this. One child asked his Mum if he could go to the church to ask Baby Jesus to bring back Robert. Unfortunately the prayers of a nation were left unanswered. My deepest sympathies go to the Holohan family. One thing is certain Robert will never be forgotten. 16/01/2005 |

An Athy Resident Athy, Kildare, Ireland To Roberts Family, friends & school mates, to the residents of Midleton, the Gardaí, rescue teams and all those who travelled many miles to offer their time and involved themselves in the search for a child so innocent and dear; candles will be lit for your intentions in the churches of Athy.
For Robert, his parents Mark & Majella, and the entire Holohan family, the candles of Irelands Hearts will for ever burn for the grief, pain & suffering that has become onto you. This has been a most sorrowful time for the whole island of Ireland.
Robert Holohan will not be forgotten. May He Rest In Peace.
